Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 October 2026

This explains what snog.me keeps about you, why, who can see it and how to get it deleted. snog is owned and run by the.community. We don’t sell your information, we don’t show adverts, and we don’t use tracking cookies.

What we keep

  • Your account: username, email address, date of birth, gender and your password. Your password is stored scrambled, so nobody, including snog staff, can read it.
  • Your profile: anything you choose to add, such as your display name, headline, about you, country, relationship status, social media usernames, photos and profile cover.
  • What you do on snog: your snogs, marries and avoids (and their messages), who you follow and block, interests you suggest, and when you were last active.
  • Messages you send and receive, and when they were read.
  • Reports you make, and any messages you choose to attach to them.
  • Support tickets you send on snog.support.

Why we keep it

  • To run your account and show your profile, answers and messages to the right people.
  • To check members are over 18 (your date of birth).
  • To let you log in and send you a link if you forget your password (your email).
  • To keep snog safe: looking into reports, removing rule-breaking content and banning accounts.
  • To answer your support tickets.

We only email you about your account, such as password reset links. We’ll never send newsletters unless you’ve asked for them.

Who can see it

  • Members can see your profile, photos, answers and how many followers you have. Your email, date of birth and password are never shown (members see your age, not your birthday).
  • Anyone can see the Live Feed on the snog home page, which shows usernames, profile pictures and answers.
  • The person you message sees your messages, and whether you’ve read theirs.
  • snog staff can see what they need to keep the site safe and answer support: account details, reports, messages attached to reports and support tickets. Everything staff change is recorded.
  • Our web host stores snog’s data on its servers for us. We don’t share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Visitor statistics

We count how many people visit snog each day and which pages are popular. To count each visitor only once, we turn your internet address and browser into a code that can’t be turned back and changes every day. We never store your internet address itself, and the counts can’t be traced back to you. Daily totals are kept for 13 months.

Cookies

  • One cookie keeps you logged in. It’s removed when you close your browser or log out.
  • Saved member search: if you tick Save Search in Members, we remember your search in a cookie for 90 days.

That’s all. No advertising or tracking cookies, so there’s nothing to accept.

How long we keep it

  • Your information stays while you have an account.
  • When you delete your account, everything is deleted 14 days later: your profile, photos, answers, follows, blocks, notifications, support tickets, and reports made by or about you. Conversations are deleted for both people, so the other member loses them too.
  • Read notifications are cleared after 90 days. Password reset links stop working after an hour.
  • So we can deal with repeat rule-breakers, snog staff keep a record of moderation actions and username changes, which may mention your username.

Your choices and rights

  • Change your profile and details any time from your profile page and Settings.
  • Choose who can message you in Settings → Messages, and block anyone.
  • Delete your account in Settings → Delete Account.
  • To get a copy of your information, or ask anything else about your privacy, send a ticket on snog.support.

Keeping it safe

snog uses a secure connection (HTTPS), stores passwords scrambled, and only lets staff see what their job needs. No website can promise to be perfectly secure, but if something ever went wrong with your information, we’d tell you.

Over 18s only

snog is only for people aged 18 and over. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If it’s a big change, we’ll tell members on snog first.
